2027 CALL FOR SPEAKERS

BUILDEX Vancouver returns to the Vancouver Convention Centre, on February 10 & 11, 2027 where industry peers from architecture, interior design, construction, engineering, property management and homebuilding & renovation will explore key themes, challenges, and critical issues impacting Vancouver’s building and construction industry. Over the course of two days, attendees will interact, learn, and discover the newest innovations from a market in constant transformation through skills building seminars, workshops, panel discussions, and engaging keynotes.

Submission guidelines:

  • Topics will be selected based on market trends and current issues. Preference will be given to speakers who can present new and innovative content to a broad audience.
  • Topics must be educational in content, not commercial or advertorial in nature.
  • There is no minimum level of title or qualifications for speakers, although most accepted speakers tend to be experienced professionals.
  • Panels should have a maximum of 4 speakers and 1 moderator.
  • Honoraria, airfare, and accommodations will not be covered for speakers.
  • A title and description are required. Limit of 150 words. The title should be clear, concise and capture the essence of the session topic in a few words. The description should be in narrative form and provide a brief yet comprehensive overview. The description is published in the program and is used by attendees in selecting their sessions. It should therefore include current/recent market trends related to your topic, the objectives, learning outcomes, and/or specific skills attendees can expect to gain from attending your session as well as target audience demographics.
  • All speakers must be confirmed prior to the form submission deadline of August 10, 2026. Additions or changes to sessions with more than 1 speaker will not be accepted after the deadline. For sessions with 1 speaker, changes will be accepted until December 10, 2026. If a speaker is unable to present or secure an alternative after this deadline, their session may result in cancellation.

Review Criteria

NEW THIS YEAR: Speaker applications will be peer-reviewed by the Program Advisory Committee members based on four key criteria:

  • Clarity - ensuring the content is presented in a clear and understandable manner;
  • Relevance - assessing the alignment of the session with the show and audience interests;
  • Originality - gauging the uniqueness and innovative aspects of the proposed content;
  • Expertise - evaluating whether speakers possess the appropriate professional background, industry experience, and demonstrated knowledge; and
  • Inclusion - considering diverse individuals and groups, empowering all to participate equally and fully.

Timeline

  • August 10, 2026 – At 11:59 PM PST – Call for Speaker’s submission deadline.
  • September 2026 – All primary contacts to be notified of session status - accepted, rejected or waitlisted.
  • September 2026 – Attendee registration opens.
  • October 2026 – Conference program is published.
  • December 10, 2026 – Session changes will be accepted until December 10, 2026.
  • February 10-11, 2027 – BUILDEX Vancouver takes place
