Co-Head FinReg at Aosphere

Penny is Co-Head of FinReg at aosphere Limited, running a suite of cross-border legal analysis products that are used by asset managers and financial services firms across the globe. Each aosphere product covers a particular topic (e.g. cross-border distribution of funds) and provides concise, colour-coded summaries of the information that legal/compliance professionals as well as their business colleagues need to access. The senior regulatory lawyers in Penny’s team work closely with leading local counsel in nearly 90 jurisdictions to obtain the detailed information which the aosphere lawyers then analyse and curate. The team also provide a horizon-scanning service, alerting subscribers about important regulatory changes and future developments they need to stay on top of.

Penny is particularly focused on the development of new products and new tools to enable aosphere content to be delivered to subscribers as effectively as possible. Penny is often asked to speak on the regulatory framework for cross-border distribution rules, especially looking at regional trends, the varying approaches in different jurisdictions/by different regulators and the practical impact of legislative change.

Penny joined aosphere in 2019. Prior to this, Penny spent 10 years in the regulatory, funds and financial products practice at international law firm Allen & Overy LLP, acting as a key advisor to leading asset managers on all types of fund establishments and institutional investors on making fund investments as well as broader regulatory matters.
