Kevin Chen is the founding partner of BioTrack Capital. Prior to BioTrack, he was the partner at Sequoia Capital China heading healthcare investment. Before Sequoia Capital, Mr. Chen was the founding member of the first healthcare fund at Everbright Holdings (“Everbright Healthcare Fund I”) and served as head and IC member of the fund.

At Sequoia and Everbright, Mr. Chen led investments in 20+ China leading healthcare companies including: BGI - the largest domestic genomics company; Betta Pharma - the first local biotech company that successfully listed in domestic stock market; Zai Lab - leading biotech company listed at Nasdaq; and We-Doctor - one of the biggest digital health company。

Before Everbright, he was the President, COO & CFO of ShangPharma Corporation, one of the top three preclinical CRO companies in China and took the company public at NYSE in 2010.

Prior to ShangPharma, Mr. Chen worked as research scientist at Ligand Pharmaceuticals in San Diego, California as well as M&A and BD department at multinational companies.

Mr. Chen holds a Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry from Nanjing University, Master Degree in medicinal chemistry from Tulane University and an MBA from Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University.
