James Steele-Perkins is BDO’s Head of CASS. He has over 25 years of experience in Financial Services with more than 14 years focussed on client asset protection (both at PwC and more recently with BDO), operating in both the assurance and advisory sectors. James has a diverse background in client asset protection from leading CASS audit quality controls and signing annual CASS audit reports, along with having spent time at the FCA’s Client Asset Department in 2010/11, undertaking specialist client asset investigations and skilled person reviews, and seeing first hand why these client asset rules are important in the event of an insolvency with experience of Lehman, Beaufort and Wealth Tek failures
