Pietro is a senior competition lawyer at the PSR (Deputy General Counsel since 2024) and now also at the FCA (Senior Manager in the new ‘Payment Systems and Competition’ legal department). In the last couple of years his focus has been on competition issues arising in payment systems, in particular cards. He was previously a legal director at the CMA, where he worked for more than ten years (including on digital, pharma and energy). Pietro started his career in private practice in Brussels. He holds master’s degrees in European law (King’s College London) and in Business Administration (Imperial College).
