Russell Mascarenhas is a senior competition lawyer at Lloyds Banking Group, advising across the Group on strategically significant and complex competition law matters. His work spans regulatory reform, transactions, investigations, litigation and compliance, as well as major developments in payments, digital assets and other evolving markets. Across these areas, he provides strategic, commercial and practical advice. He regularly engages with regulators, industry bodies and senior stakeholders on complex questions of law and policy. Before joining Lloyds Banking Group in 2013, Russell spent seven years at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in London and Tokyo. He is a former contributing author to Butterworths Competition Law Service, has served in a non-executive capacity on an NHS trust board, and is Co-Chair of Boost, Lloyds Banking Group’s social mobility network.
