Emmelie is a partner in the competition team.

She has a particular expertise in abuse of dominance, horizontalagreements and cartels matters. Her experience further extendsto merger control and distribution agreements in which areasshe frequently assists clients.

Emmelie co-authored the first handbook on Belgian competitionlaw (“Bos Door De Bomen Mededingingsrecht”), which waspublished in 2022. In 2025, the book got a second edition. Inaddition, she was the editor, and co-author of the "HorizontalAgreements - Block Exemptions & Horizontal Guidelines -Toolbook for Practitioners" (LeA Publishers, 2024) on the revisedHorizontal Block Exemption Regulations on R&D andSpecialisation agreements (‘HBERs') and the revised 2023Horizontal Guidelines.

She also regularly delivers guest lectures on competition law atuniversities (including on abuse of dominance in Cambridge inSeptember and EU Competition law and Arbitration at theBrussels School of Competition in May), provides compliancetraining sessions to companies, and speaks at industry events(this year e.g. for Fevia (federation of the Belgian food industry)and VBO (Federation of Belgian Enterprises).

In addition, she contributes to our Glossary series, where sheexplains complex competition law concepts to a broaderaudience in an engaging and accessible way.
