Joakim Smedman

Joakim Smedman is a Legal Advisor at the European Trade Union Confederation in Brussels. Prior to joining the ETUC in 2020, he was engaged in the Finnish and Swedish trade union movements. He is specialised in workers’ rights and follows EU internal market policies, including competition law. Mr Smedman holds Master’s degrees in European Law (University of Helsinki, Finland) and Gender Studies (Université Lumière Lyon II, France), with previous professional experience from international organisations, higher education and legal services.
