Jochen is a lawyer with almost 20 years of PQE in advising decision makers on regulatory matters (e. g. antitrust and competition law and politics, GDPR, unfair trading practices), M&A and general commercial transactions. Prior to having rejoined EDEKA (Germany’s market leading food retailer) in November 2025 he has worked as head of legal Germany at Amplifon (a leading hearing aid retailer). Before that he served as a leading counsel for antitrust and competition law, competition politics and supply chain regulatory at EDEKA between 2012 and 2024. He was admitted to the Bar in 2007 as an associate at Linklaters. Jochen holds a doctorate in antitrust law and a degree as a Compliance Officer. He has advised on numerous compliance issues (e. g. building ESG compliance management and whistleblower systems) both in law firms and inhouse. He is married and has two kids.
