Profile
Andrew Morrison focuses his practice on UK and European competition law, with deep experience in the life sciences and pharmaceutical sector. He holds an M.Biochem (Hons) in Biochemistry from the University of Oxford, giving him a scientific grounding that informs his work on pharmaceutical antitrust matters.
Andrew advises pharmaceutical and medical device companies on merger control, cartel investigations (including leniency and immunity applications), and abuse-of-dominance cases before UK and European authorities. He also represents clients in UK and European appellate proceedings and in UK competition law damages actions.
Andrew has advised on many of the UK and EU's highest-profile pharmaceutical antitrust investigations, including Teva Pharmaceuticals on the CMA's investigation into its subsidiaries' conduct concerning the sale of hydrocortisone tablets in the UK, and Mylan on both the European Commission's perindopril investigation and the CMA's paroxetine investigation and subsequent appeal.
His combination of scientific training and regulatory experience allows him to translate complex pharmaceutical science for competition authorities and to anticipate how enforcement agencies approach novel drug and device markets.
