Elisabetta M. Lanza is a legal officer at the Italian Competition Authority (since 2012). Currently she works as Seconded National Expert at the Directorate General for Competition at the European Commission (Unit E1, Antitrust: Pharma and Health Services). She has been case-handler of several cases, among which: the Italian "Aspen" case dealing with an abuse of dominance for excessive pricing in the pharmaceutical sector; the “Unilever” case related to exclusivity agreements and fidelity-inducing rebates. Before working for the Italian Competition Authority, she was a solicitor in the field of administrative law and civil law.
She holds a PhD (University of Ferrara) and has conducted research at Yale Law School. Dr Lanza wrote several publications in the fields of competition law, administrative law and constitutional law.
