George Peretz KC (England and Wales) BL (Ireland) practises from Monckton Chambers in London and the Law Library in Dublin. He has extensive experience of litigating questions of EU, and post-Brexit retained EU law, in the EU Court of Justice and higher UK courts. He specialises in both competition law (especially State aid/subsidy control, where he has recently represented both the UK tax authorities and E.ON in separate high-profile cases before the English High Court) and in pharmaceutical regulation, where he represented the UK MHRA in Astellas Pharma (ECJ) and in the Avastin litigation in the English Court of Appeal. The 2023 edition of Chambers and Partners states that “George is fabulously detailed. He takes great care with the client, and is terrific on his feet" and that "he has a very encyclopaedic knowledge, and can translate what is sometimes very technical into something that clients can understand.
