Catherine specialises in representing clients before the European Commission in complex merger control cases, including Phase 2 proceedings and other transactions requiring remedies, and in antitrust and abuse of dominance investigations. Her experience spans a wide range of sectors, including aviation, steel, chemicals and other basic industries.

Catherine also advises on the EU Foreign Subsidies Regulation (FSR), both on a standalone basis and in conjunction with other regulatory processes liable to affect M&A transactions, such as the EU merger control regime and foreign direct investment rules. She is a core member of VBB’s internal FSR taskforce and a contributing author to the first (and to date only) practitioner handbook on the FSR published by the firm with Concurrences in January 2024.

Before joining VBB, Catherine worked in the New York office of a leading international law firm.
