Virpi Ojanen

Head of Legal, Grocery Trade and Competition at SOK (S-Group)

Virpi has over 20 years’ experience in key legal roles, in both Competition and Commercial law. She has gained several years of strategic in-house experience from both the food industry sector, in a major Finnish food company, as well as from the retail sector. In addition to her vast experience as an in-house counsel, she has worked in a top-tier Finnish law firm for app. 10 years, advising international clients on Competition Law in particular. Virpi is currently heading Competition and Commercial law, in Finland’s biggest grocery trade operator, S Group. She is also a member of SOK’s respective management team, and a specialist member (Competition Law) in the Finnish Commerce Federation’s Legal Committee.

Virpi holds a Master of Laws degree, from both the University of Turku, as well as from the University of Stockholm, with special emphasis on EC Competition Law.
