I graduated from St John's University in 1998 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Pharmacy. During my last 2 years in school I was already hired as an intern in a home infusion company that also served long term care and hospice patients. After graduation, I stayed on board as a staff pharmacist learning the Long Term Care and Hospice operations. 2 years later, I was employed as an Assistant Director of Pharmacy at a nursing home in the Bronx. After only another 2 years, I went back to home infusion at a small, but growing company in Queens. I spent the next 18 years of my career there. During that time, I became familiar with IV Pharmacy, Long term care compliance packaging systems and operations. I was also promoted to Hospice Pharmacy Director. In that capacity I helped manage 6 large Hospice Pharmacy contracts for the company. During the last 2 -3 years of my tenure there, I spent most of my time running the IV pharmacy operation. In 2019, the IV division of the company was sold to a national home infusion company. I became the company's 1st NY branch and Supervising Pharmacist. In that role, I managed all daily pharmacy operations, staff and regulatory compliance. Again, after about 2 years, I arrived in my current position with Americare Pharmaceutical Services. In almost 5 years, I have managed the education of staff, guided the facility in enhancing internal operations to meet the new USP standards. This has guided the company to achieving accreditation through the revised JCAHO accreditation process and also URAC Specialty Accreditation. I am now serving as the Co-Compliance officer for the company managing regulatory compliance, accreditation preparedness, staff training and soon becoming a preceptor for St John's University.
