Profile
Aðalheiður (Heidi) Snæbjarnardóttir is Head of Sustainability at Landsbankinn, Iceland’s largest financial institution. She leads the Bank’s sustainability strategy and compliance — aligning financial operations with environmental and social priorities, and embedding sustainability across governance, risk, and reporting structures.
With over a decade of experience in the field, Heidi brings a rare combination of strategic insight and hands-on expertise. She has worked in sustainability across sectors — as an independent consultant, at a marketing agency, and since 2019, in-house at Landsbankinn. Her work is anchored in the belief that finance must serve both society and the planet.
Heidi chairs the board of the UN Global Compact Network Iceland and serves on the board of AFS Intercultural Programs Iceland. She is an alternate board member of the Reykjavík Theatre Company, the city’s leading stage arts institution. Heidi is the former vice chair of Festa – Centre for Sustainability and served on Iceland’s national Climate Council. She holds a master’s degree in marketing and international business from the University of Iceland.
A frequent moderator and speaker on sustainable finance, regulation, and business transformation, Heidi is known for bridging the gap between technical frameworks and real-world action.
