Profile

Dr. Christopher R. Brown is a Director of Oligo Delivery at Korro Bio. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology at Brandeis University in 2002 and his PhD in the Biological and Biomedical Sciences program at Harvard University in 2008. Following his PhD, Dr. Brown was a Ruth L. Kirschstein postdoctoral fellow in the lab of Dr. Hinrich Boeger at the University of California, Santa Cruz. In 2015, Dr. Brown joined the Research Department at Alnylam Pharmaceuticals where he co-led interdisciplinary teams tasked with the design of next generation of siRNAs and investigation of the molecular mechanisms of RNAi including siRNA trafficking, endosomal escape, and RISC loading efficiency. Since early 2021, Dr. Brown has been advancing an oligo-based, A-to-I RNA editing platform at Korro Bio that utilizes endogenous adenosine deaminases acting on RNA (ADARs). He currently leads a cross-functional team working on ADAR biology and biochemistry, oligo design and delivery, and high throughput screening.
