Ian Russell is a Senior Managing Director of Capital Markets at Morning Calm Management responsible for the origination of new strategies and products, the sourcing and execution of transactions, and the cultivation of new sponsor and capital relationships. Prior to joining Morning Calm Management, Mr. Russell was a Principal of Acquisitions at Singerman Real Estate, the head of New Business Development at Blue Vista Capital, and a Senior Vice President within the Real Estate Investment Banking team at JLL. Mr. Russell started his career working for the Macquarie Group in Sydney, Australia within their Real Estate Investment Banking and Funds Management division, and subsequently, for the Charter Hall Group after their acquisition of Macquarie’s real estate Funds Management division. Through his various roles, Mr. Russell has transacted in Australia, Asia, North America, Europe and South America for an aggregate transaction value of over $40 billion.

Mr. Russell received a B.B.A. with honors from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he double majored in real estate and management.
