Daniel W. Wallick is one of Vanguard's leading investment experts on global institutions. A principal in Vanguard Investment Strategy Group, Mr. Wallick has had a long career developing multiasset solutions for institutional clients. He was instrumental in the creation of both the Vanguard Capital Markets Model®, a forecasting tool, and the Vanguard Asset Allocation Model, a portfolio solution tool.
Mr. Wallick also has been at the forefront of Vanguard's product innovation, having played a critical role in the establishment of the Vanguard Target Retirement Funds and Vanguard Alternative Strategies Fund, as well as Vanguard Managed Payout Funds, where he is named in conjunction with a financial patent. Mr. Wallick is extensively published on topics such as portfolio construction, alternatives, and active management, and is a frequent speaker at industry events worldwide.
Before joining Vanguard in 1998, Mr. Wallick worked in public finance, where he was responsible for the issuance of more than $10 billion worth of bonds. He earned a B.A. in history from the University of Pennsylvania and an M.B.A. from Harvard University.
