Maëlia Dufour

Chief International Officer at BPI France and President at The Berne Union

Maëlia is President of the Berne Union, an institution which gathers 85 members (ECAs, Private Insurers, Multilateral Institutions) from 67 countries of the world and supported 3.5 trillion USD in 2023.

As Chief International Officer of Bpifrance Export Insurance, she manages international strategies and relations with the main stakeholders such as the Bern Union, ECAs, OECD and EU. She also leads the business development and creation of new products for exporters (SMEs and Key Accounts) and banks; environmental, social and climate issues; rating of foreign companies and banks and pricing.

Through a 30+ year career, she has become a highly experienced executive manager with a deep understanding of the export credit insurance industry.

Previously she was Head of Division of Key Accounts (energy and nuclear power, telecom, space, project finance, engineering, buildings, public works and capital goods), Head of Division of Geographic Desks (Africa, Americas, Asia, Europe and Oceania), Head of Division of Paris Club Rescheduling Agreements, Head of Certification ISO 9001 project for the State Guarantees Department, Head of client’s requests, quality and statistics department. She has also worked for the Military Affairs Department.
