North American Trade Sales Head at Citi

Ozgur (Oz) Akdeniz is the North American Trade Sales & Client Management Head for Citi, leading a team of Trade & Supply Chain specialists in the origination of new Trade & Working Capital business across Citi’s North American clients and prospects. Oz is responsible for the development and execution of Citi’s Trade & Working Capital Sales strategy for North America and delivery of insights led solutions for Citi’s Institutional Client Group (ICG).

Starting his banking career in Melbourne, Australia, Oz worked for multiple Australian banks across Melbourne, Sydney and New York before joining Citi in 2020. Oz is a frequent speaker and participant at industry forums in the capacity of guest speaker / panel member on the digitization of payments and trade.

Oz has also been a mentor for the 30% Club supporting Women in Leadership in NY since 2017. Oz is an organizer and champion of charities such as Movember, STEPtember and the American Heart Association at all the organizations he has worked.

Oz is closely involved with the Bankers Association of Finance and Trade (BAFT) in both Europe and USA. He was selected for the Future Leaders program in 2018, and subsequently became a Future Leader Mentor 2019. Oz is currently the co-Chair of the BAFT Future Leaders Council, involved in mentoring the next generation of Transaction Banking leaders.
