Profile
Philip Janoff is a Director in SMBC’s Structured Export Finance team, and has over 20 years’ experience in banking. At SMBC, Philip leads the day-to-day relationship management with a number of Export Credit Agencies, Multilateral Agencies, Development Banks and Government Agencies in North America, including the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM), the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), the Inter-American Development Bank’s private sector arm IDB Invest, the World Bank Group’s International Finance Corporation (IFC) and Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), and the loan program offices of the U.S. Departments of Energy, Agriculture and Defense.
Philip has worked on corporate and project financing transactions across the Americas, Europe, Asia and the Middle East, and his project experience spans the energy, infrastructure, financial institutions, telecommunications and transportation sectors.
Prior to joining SMBC, Philip worked at The Royal Bank of Scotland and ABN AMRO in export and structured finance roles.
Philip received a BA degree from Northwestern University with a double major in Mathematical Methods in the Social Sciences and Sociology.
