Profile

Stephanie Deatherage joins the Vantage Political Risk and Credit Insurance team as Vice President and Senior Risk Manager. Stephanie brings extensive private and public sector export and trade finance experience to Vantage, with particular expertise in policy and product development, strategic planning, and multilateral negotiations.

Prior to Vantage, Stephanie served as the Deputy Senior Vice President of the Office of Policy Analysis and International Relations at the Export-Import Bank of the United States (“US EXIM”). In this role, she led US EXIM during the OECD Arrangement modernization negotiations and the creation of US EXIM's first domestic finance program, Make More In America. Additionally, as a member of US EXIM's leadership team, Stephanie served as a trusted advisor to US EXIM's Board members on policy and transactional issues. Ms. Deatherage started her career in export and trade finance at US EXIM in 2008, where she was a Policy Analyst in the International Relations Division. In this capacity, she served as the lead analyst at the OECD for the 2009 Premium and 2011 Aircraft Sector Understanding negotiations.

In between her roles at US EXIM, in 2013, Stephanie joined Zurich Insurance's Credit and Political Risk group as a Technical Underwriter focusing on governance, portfolio management and risk appetite strategy development. From 2017 to 2020, she served as a Senior Underwriter on the Credit and Political Risk Group's Americas Team.

Stephanie has a Bachelor's degree in Government from Hamilton College and a Master's degree in Global Finance, Trade, and Economic Integration from the University of Denver. Stephanie also served as a Small Business Development Volunteer in Nicaragua with the United States Peace Corps.
