Sunil George
Head of Structured Trade Finance – North America at Louis Dreyfus Company LCC


Sunil George is currently heading the Structured Trade Finance activity of the North American region and oversees the Latam region for Louis Dreyfus Company based in Wilton, Connecticut, USA.

Prior to moving to the US in Jan 2016, Sunil had handled and spearheaded various activities such as Trade Finance, Structured trade finance and risk management for Louis Dreyfus Company for their Middle East and African operations based in Dubai. He has been with Louis Dreyfus Company since the beginning of 2009 and has played a vital role in growing and supporting the business operations in the MEA region along with the regional and global team.

Sunil has extensive experience in a sophisticated trading environment with special emphasis in structuring and trading trade finance transactions. He had developed many new markets thus helping to build a global portfolio working closely with the global team, including the setting up, spearheading and trading of structured trade finance products in MEA, North America and Latam regions within the Global Markets spectrum and thereby helping to maximize profitability of the group. He has gained exceptional experience in trade related risk management of commodities businesses working closely with financial institutions, insurance brokers and underwriters, suppliers and customers across the globe for trade finance solutions thereby ensuring efficiency in risk mitigation processes throughout the entire supply chain. Sunil has also possessed remarkable strengths in structuring innovative liquidity solutions through trade finance instruments and reducing the borrowing cost from origination until the distribution value chain for international trade businesses. His specialized skills include conventional commodity trade finance, structured trade finance trading and structuring, working capital management, logistics management and supply chain financing for complex global businesses.

Prior to joining LDC, Sunil was working with ED&F Man, the global sugar merchandiser and with other leading international manufacturing companies as a Trade Finance Risk Management and Supply Chain professional with a total post qualification international experience of appx 25 years.
