Profile
Darren Davids is an Analyst in the Economist Intelligence Unit's (EIU) Middle East and Africa team, and is based in the Johannesburg office. Darren is responsible for the coverage and forecasts of Uganda, the DRC, Cameroon, Guinea, and Benin but also monitors macroeconomic, political, and security risk developments across the wider central and west Africa regions.
Prior to joining the EIU in 2023, Darren worked for a number of years as a country risk analyst elsewhere in the private sector, and as a political and security risk consultant at a large multinational risk consultancy in Johannesburg. Darren has a Masters degree in Political Science from the University of Stellenbosch, and a BA in Political Science from the University of the Western Cape.
