Profile

For almost 20 years, Juana has worked in sustainable and development finance, as well as sustainability and management consulting. As an independent advisor, she has collaborated with multilateral development finance institutions, large commercial banks, private equity companies and Impact Funds to help them establish and achieve their environmental, social, economic and governance objectives. Juana also has extensive experience working with private sector clients to help them attract and deploy sustainability and impact linked financing.


Juana previously worked as a Consultant Director and the Financial Services Lead for Africa at ERM Ltd., the largest global pure play sustainability consultancy. Prior to that, Juana worked at the Development Bank of Southern Africa, as one of their senior specialists. During her time at the DBSA she had various roles, that included developing high impact and innovative products/ programmes that deliver financial returns, while producing positive Environmental, Social and Governance outcomes.


Juana also worked as a management consultant at Deloitte for several years where she was responsible for formulating sustainable business strategies as well as implementation plans and processes for large, listed corporates. She started her career working with a consortium of policy advisors that were employed by the World Bank and all levels of government to develop socioeconomic policies. Juana was also a member of strategic advisory team to the Africa Forum, an organization of former democratically elected and exited African Heads of State and Government. The Forum was chaired by H.E. Joaquim Chissano, and H.E. Nelson Mandela was the Patron of the organization.


Juana has a Master of Science degree in Economics (Development) from the University of the Bath in the UK , as well as a Bachelor of Business Administration: Business Economics degree from the University of San Diego (U.S.A).
