Jen Nwankwo, Ph.D., is the Founder & CEO of 1910 Genetics, a Boston-based, Series A stage biotechnology company that is integrating artificial intelligence (AI), computation and biological automation to accelerate the design of small molecule and protein therapeutics.
Prior to 1910 Genetics, Jen was a Management Consultant at Bain & Company and Director of Business Development at Transparency Life Sciences. Jen was also a member of the Council of Champions of Life Science Cares, a platform that enables members of the life sciences industry to provide support to local communities in poverty.
She received her Ph.D. in Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics from Tufts University School of Medicine, and conducted part of her doctoral research at the Boston Children’s Hospital of Harvard Medical School. While a Ph.D. student, Jen received the prestigious Howard Hughes Medical Institute Predoctoral Fellowship. She is also a recipient of the Tufts University Presidential Award for Citizenship & Public Service.
Jen received her B.S. in Biochemistry, summa cum laude, from Claflin University, where she was an Alice Carson Tisdale Honors College Scholar on a full 4-year merit scholarship, as well as a recipient of the UNCF Medtronic Foundation Scholarship.
Jen was recently named by Endpoints News as one of the “Top 20 Women in Biopharma R&D” and one of “52 Women-Led Startups Driving The Future of HealthTech and FemTech” by Forbes Magazine.
