Carey Ransom is an SaaS entrepreneur, executive, investor and advisor, and has started,

grown and/or led 8 B2B and consumer SaaS companies during startup and growth phases. In 2019 he founded Operate, a SoCal-focused venture studio and fund, where he and his team invest themselves into founders of exciting data-centric SaaS and fintech startups – so far with over 25 companies. Since 2003, Carey has also invested in 25 of his own or angel-funded others’ ventures, with a current IRR of 25%+ (unrealized). Most of these ventures are SaaS, fintech or data/analytics companies.

He is currently the Managing Director of BankTech Ventures, a strategic investment fund focused on empowering disruptive technologies for community banks. Founded and funded by leaders in the community banking world and endorsed by the ICBA (Independent Community Bankers of America) and The Venture Center, the fund won Finovate’s 2020 Accelerator of the Year. BankTech serves the community banking ecosystem through strategic investments, education and collaboration with its limited partners.

Carey is an entrepreneur with a passion for sharing and discussing ideas while learning and teaching along the way. His 25-year career spans executive roles in product, marketing, business development, strategy and corporate development.
