Barbara Cattrysse is Advisor to the Vice President of the European Investment Bank (EIB) in Luxembourg, and has very recently, since 1 May, is acting as Advisor to the upcoming EU Presidency in Brussels. Previously, Ms Cattrysse was Senior Legal Counsel at the EIB advising as in-house State aid lawyer on project finance, the design of financial instruments, and related policy developments. Ms Cattrysse also worked for 9 years at Directorate General Competition of the European Commission, as well as law firms. Ms Cattrysse has an LLM from the University of London, King’s College London, an LLM from the University of Ghent in Belgium, and an Executive Master in Finance from the Solvay Business School in Belgium. She regularly speaks at State aid events, in particular related to financial instruments, access to finance, developments banks, and has published on these subjects.
