Mr Jonas Hallberg is a Legal Adviser at the Department for Trade and Security at the National Board of Trade Sweden, a government agency under the Ministry for Foreign Affairs. In this role, he supports the Ministry in a wide range of investment-related matters, with a particular focus on investment protection and investment screening. He has, inter alia, supported the Ministry in the negotiations of the EU Foreign Direct Investment Screening Regulation, as well as in the recent revision of that Regulation, the negotiations of which have now been concluded and are awaiting approval by the European Parliament. In addition, Mr Hallberg participates in the investment screening process conducted by the Inspectorate of Strategic Products, for which the National Board of Trade serves as a mandatory referral authority.
