Brynjar VatnsdalManager, Airport Development & Construction at IsaviaSpeaker
Profile
Brynjar is the department manager for airport development at Keflavik Airport. The development department is responsible for planning of all major infrastructure development in the airport. That includes the 25 year masterplan and the 7-10 year major development plan, as well as concept design stages for all infrastructure projects.
In 2023 Keflavik updated the airport masterplan originally published in 2015, to reflect business strategies that informed the strategic changes during this timeframe. The masterplan is focused reflecting the Airport as a community rather than being an transportation infrastructure masterplan.
Brynjar has been working at the airport since 2017, first as project manager in development but has been leading the development since early 2020.
When not planning the future of Keflavik Airport, Brynjar carefully plans his record collection, identifying the primary expansion possibilities and capacity issues.
