Dan Galpin is a Managing Director and leads ICF’s Aviation, Travel & Tourism Division. Dan has 20+ years’ experience in the aviation industry, having worked for NATS (the British Air Navigation Service provider), as well as Virgin Atlantic Airways prior to joining ICF as an aviation consultant in 2013.
Dan has extensive experience in traffic forecasting, combining a strong background in complex data analysis and modelling with an in-depth understanding of supply-side factors from his first-hand experience at Virgin Atlantic. In addition to high-level forecasting, Dan is familiar with more detailed design day modelling and its relationship to infrastructure requirements as well as the more commercial aspects of airports in particular Air Service Marketing. Dan also continues to work for airlines on a number of different types of assignments, from high-level strategy and planning to developing detailed network planning models. In recent years, Dan has become increasingly involved in Sustainability, providing consultancy services to government agencies and aviation representative groups, helping to assess policy implications (for example, advising the European Commission on CORSIA and EU ETS policy options) and research complex issues (for example, numerous projects with ACI).
