Gudmundur Dadi Runarsson has been involved in the aviation industry from the age of 18 when he started as a baggage handler during school holidays at Icelandair and has never looked back.
Following spells in ground operations, revenue management, project implementation and as a management director of a ground handling company Dadi joined Keflavik International Airport as a director in 2012. With spells leading Terminal Operations, security and facility management moving to become the Chief Technical Officer of the airport in 2016 and then from 2019 being the Chief Commercial and Airport Development Officer for the airport. Currently responsible for the commercial and customer service and product offerings at the airport to passengers and airlines as well as management responsibility of all investment programs, major project planning and airport development, aerodrome infrastructure and Baggage Handling Systems & engineering.
Dadi holds a master’s degree in engineering management from Denmark’s Technical University, Copenhagen, is a father of one and an adventurous global traveler but at the same time knows no better place on earth than the highlands of Iceland where hiking is unparallel.
