Sustainability at Informa Markets
Our aim is to become an ever more sustainable, positive impact business. It's our ongoing mission to embed sustainability into everything we do and help our customers and specialist markets do the same. From our operations and business practices, to the knowledge and information we provide to our customers and communities, we’re committed to making a positive impact. We focus on the areas in which we can make the most significant contribution: our operations, the content and knowledge Informa’s brands provide and the communities in which we work.
FasterForward is Informa’s approach to sustainable business; a five-year sustainability programme which contains ambitious commitments to embed sustainability into everything we do and help our customers and markets do the same. It is a structured three-part programme with ambitious commitments and a wide range of activities, covering Informa's business operations, our brands and products and our broader community impact.
Tackling the industry's most pressing challenge
The biggest challenge facing us all is decarbonisation and we have a number of sessions on this year's agenda that address this, the industry's most pressing challenge, from the perspective of finance, infrastructure development and business strategy. We are also bringing non-industry speakers to the event to share insights and inspiration from other industries.
The Industry's Next Steps
Even before sustainability climbed up the global agenda, aviation had every incentive to cut its fuel consumption and therefore emissions. Although there has been real progress, there is also much work still to be done, and major challenges lie ahead for aviation.
These challenges will encompass not only new technology, including airframe and propulsion types that will make aviation cleaner and more efficient, but also a host of regulatory hoops through which the aviation community must pass.
Aviation Week Network continues to explore the ongoing initiatives underway.
