Registered attendees at GAD World will have the chance to join two different tours whilst onsite at Zurich Airport and get a full insider view of the Circle urban development and a behind-the-scenes peek at Zurich International Airport itself.

The Circle Tour

On this one hour walking tour, participants are accompanied by an experienced tour guide who will be happy to answer any questions.

On a surface area of 30,000 square metres, the Circle provides 180,000 square metres of space for utilisation by retail and services, in close proximity to the terminals at Zurich Airport. The investment volume amounts to one billion Swiss francs. On this tour, visitors are provided with a glimpse behind the scenes of this fascinating structure, including:

  • Architecture by Riken Yamamoto and the conceptual background
  • Special structural features of the project
  • Structural development and challenges
  • Companies/tenants in the Circle
  • Building services and technical hub

The Airport Tour

This is a complete package for airport enthusiasts. The one-and-a-half-hour tour presents Zurich Airport to visitors in all its variety.

The Tour will start at Arrival 2 in the main airport complex and the group will visit the terminal complex, go through the security check building into the Airside Center, where visitors can enjoy excellent views of the apron. The group will take the Skymetro to Observation Deck E and a fantastic view of the main airport complex and runways.

From Dock E, the group will take a bus to view the General Aviation Center, freight operations, the hangars and catering facilities, the Winter Services hall and the intersection of runways 10/28 and 16/34. The visitors can disembark at this unique spot and watch planes taking off and landing from right up close. The bus will then return to Observation Deck B. The tour ends there and the group will have the chance to spend some time on the observation deck if they wish.

Tour summary:

  • Main airport complex: terminals and Airside Center
  • Observation Deck E: views of the runway system and main airport complex
  • One-hour bus tour: REGA (Swiss Air-Rescue), freight area, hangar and vaulted hangar, fire service, Winter Services hall, stop at the runway intersection
