Matthew is a South African-born serial entrepreneur and technologist with 11 years' experience in crypto, blockchain and digital assets. His current role at London-based Fintech Hedge Fund Fasanara Capital involves seeking blockchain solutions to grow the opportunity value set to investors, primarily focusing on tokenization of real-world assets.

Prior to Fasanara, Matthew was head of the Polygon Accelerator at Outlier Ventures where he helped accelerate over 14 Web3 teams building on the Polygon network.

His ability to apply a skillset of understanding to highly innovative ecosystems stems from his involvement as a co-founder along with Lex Sokolin (ex-chief economist at ConsenSys) at The Fintech Blueprint - a leading analytical Fintech & DeFi newsletter and podcast in the industry, with over 170,000 subscribers, which was acquired by Fintech Nexus earlier this year.

Matthew's career path has seen him go from management consultant at IBM, to Head of fintech research at a top equity research firm in London, and founding a distributed ledger technology company. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree with Finance Honours and Economics from the University of Cape Town.
