Gordan Lauc, PhD is a professor at the University of Zagreb and Director of the National Centre of Research Excellence in Personalised Healthcare. In 2017 he initiated the launch of the Human Glycome project and is one of its two co-directors. By combining glycomic data with extensive genetic, epigenetic, biochemical, and physiological data on over 200,000 individual he is trying to understand the role of glycans in normal physiology and disease. Professor Lauc co-authored over 300 research articles that are cited over 17,000 times in Google Scholar. In 2007 he founded Genos, a biotech company that is currently the global leader in high-throughput glycomics. Research in Genos led to the development of the GlycanAge test of biological age, which is today considered to be the best tool for personalisation of lifestyle interventions.
