Cara Newman is VP and Head of Structured Finance at Hometap, overseeing the company’s asset capital strategy and securitization efforts. Prior to joining Hometap in 2023, Cara served as Managing Director and Head of Structured Finance at Redwood Trust, Inc.; she began her career in the New York office of Mayer Brown LLP. Cara is an active member of the Structured Finance Association, currently sitting on the Executive Committee of its Board of Directors. Cara served as Chair of the SFA’s Women in Securitization initiative from 2023 to 2025. She holds a J.D., Order of the Coif, from DePaul University College of Law and a B.A., magna cum laude, from Loyola University Chicago.
