Neeralee Patel is Senior Underwriting Counsel at First American Title Insurance Company, where she serves as the dedicated proptech underwriter focused on innovative, atypical, and emerging real estate products. She graduated from The University of Texas School of Law in 2015 and brings a broad, end-to-end perspective on real estate title risk, having worked across title claims and litigation management, residential and commercial closings, and underwriting roles with major title companies and underwriters.

In her current role, Neeralee reviews, analyzes, and assesses the insurability of novel real estate and home equity structures, working closely with lenders, investors, and internal teams to navigate legal, operational, and regulatory risk. Her experience includes extensive work with home equity investments (HEIs) and other non-traditional capital products, as well as ongoing monitoring of legislation, litigation, and market trends affecting the space. Neeralee is also an educator and speaker on proptech and atypical real estate products, helping bridge the gap between innovation and the practical realities of closing and insuring these transactions at scale.
