Stefan Martinovic is a seasoned innovator and entrepreneur with deep experience in commercial real estate investment, development, property technology and data. Nearly the entirety of Stefan’s professional career has been a focus on applying a data-driven lens to real estate investment. He is a Professor at the NYU Schack Institute of Real Estate and served a subject matter expert for NEOM, a $1T international sustainable building investment venture in Saudi Arabia. He was recently an Entrepreneur In Residence at Tenney 110, a subsidiary of AmFam Group, where he launched new real estate technology ventures and is an active real estate tech venture investor and advisor to startups serving the commercial real estate industry. Through his firm Remix Properties, Stefan acquired 122 acres of development land across the Hudson Valley and Catskills, planned for 50,000 SF of commercial development including retail, residential, land, and hospitality sectors. He has secured site plan approvals, zoning variances, impact agreements, private contracts and $1M in New York State economic development grants by employing location data tools and AI. Stefan held key roles as VP of Business Development at Placer.ai, a $1B location analytics technology company. He served as VP of Investments at Midwood, a $2B owner-developer with a 140 property national portfolio across 10 states, positioning Midwood among the most progressive institutional investors in NYC CRE. Stefan was the Real Estate Board of New York's first Director of Innovation, where he launched NYC's Multiple Listing Service serving the city’s most powerful real estate owner/operators, developers, brokerage firms and 14,000 residential leasing & sale agents. He Co-founded and was CEO of Create.io, a VC-backed software startup pioneering property data & 3D maps for CRE. Previously, Stefan served as a site selection and economic development consultant to multinational corporations after launching his career in commercial real estate in Washington DC with CityInterests, regional developer where he supported the development of thousands of residential units and over 1M SF of commercial space across the Mid-Atlantic. Stefan is a member of the ULI’s Technology & Innovation Council and an investor and advisor to numerous real estate startups. He holds an MBA in Finance from The College of William & Mary, and a BBA in Finance from Seton Hall University.
