Robert SannaDirector of Development at BFC PartnersSpeaker
Profile
Rob Sanna is Director of Preservation at BFC Partners Development, a Brooklyn-based developer and general contractor with an active pipeline spanning New York City and upstate New York. With over a decade in affordable housing finance and development, Rob has deep experience on both sides of the rehab vs. new construction equation. His work spans complex transactions across LIHTC, Historic Tax Credits, and Section 8 — from tenant-in-place rehabs and large-scale adaptive reuse to ground-up new construction. He specializes in difficult projects and turnarounds, finding creative paths forward where conventional deal structures fall short. Before joining BFC, Rob spent five years at the NYC Housing Development Corporation (NYCHDC) underwriting new construction and preservation deals, including early transactions under New York City's public housing conversion program (NYCHA PACT) and the financial restructuring and rehabilitation of the Mitchell-Lama portfolio — a legacy stock of midcentury moderate-income housing. He holds an MSc in Real Estate Development from Columbia University
