Mark Chapin is a tenured appraiser and business development leader serving the real estate construction, brokerage, and finance sectors of our industry. Mark launched his first business at eighteen, successfully building and selling it at a profit. Guided by an insatiable curiosity, a knack for untangling messy challenges, and a genuine passion for helping people discover their own paths to success, Mark has shaped a career that blends strategy, creativity, and collaboration in equal measure.

Today, Mark leads business development and strategy at Applied Valuation Services, a national valuation and inspection firm where connecting dots, ideas, and people is both his job and his sport of choice. Before Applied, he held executive roles at Solidifi, Cotality, and Interthinx—each charge adding more industry know-how and reinforcing his belief that well-built teams (and well-built espresso machines) are the backbone of robust organizations.

Mark is a designee of the American Society of Appraisers and currently serves as Chair of the Virginia Real Estate Appraiser Board—proof that he’s as serious about advancing the profession as he is about enjoying the journey.
