Don Belanger

Mr. Belanger is a Senior Director at Fitch Ratings, where he leads the team responsible for CRE CLO analysis and ratings. He also spearheads Fitch’s initiatives in Private Credit CRE debt and other emerging CRE debt structures. After living in London for 17 years, he relocated back to the United States in 2022 to assume this role.

Prior to joining Fitch, Mr. Belanger held senior leadership roles at several global investment banks. At UBS, he was a Managing Director and Senior Portfolio Manager overseeing commercial real estate investments across Europe and Asia. At Deutsche Bank, he served as Managing Director in London, responsible for originating, structuring, and distributing commercial real estate debt transactions across major global markets. At Credit Suisse, he was Managing Director and Head of European Real Estate Finance, where he led the firm’s commercial real estate debt origination and distribution business throughout Europe. Earlier in his career, he was a Vice President at Nomura Securities.

Mr. Belanger earned both a Master of Science in Finance and Accounting and a Post Graduate Diploma in Economics from the London School of Economics, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from UCLA.

He lives in Connecticut with his wife.
