Sonia Khanna serves as Investment Partner at Galway Sustainable Capital (“GSC”), where she leads the Green Buildings vertical, originating loans and investments in commercial real estate properties with a focus on improving property performance via energy efficiency improvements. Prior to joining GSC, Ms. Khanna was Managing Director of Sustainable Finance at Forbright Bank, a full-service bank that is committed to accelerating the transition to a clean energy economy. Within this role, Sonia led the sustainable finance strategy across the bank’s lending business lines and originated new transactions primarily in the sustainable real estate sector. Prior to Forbright, Ms. Khanna spent 15 years developing relationships with investors, operators, and intermediaries in primary and secondary markets throughout the country as a senior member of the Commercial Real Estate Group at Pacific Western Bank, where she served as Senior Director and ran the Washington, DC Commercial Real Estate originations team. Ms. Khanna also previously worked at CapitalSource Inc. and UBS Investment Bank.
Ms. Khanna holds a BA in Mathematics from Barnard College and an MBA in Finance from The Kellogg School of Management. Ms. Khanna is an active member of ULI’s Sustainable Development Council and is a guest lecturer at the NYU Stern School of Business.
