Cara Newman, Head of Structured Finance at Hometap, spearheads the company’s asset capital strategy, including securitization efforts. Prior to joining Hometap in 2023, Cara served as Managing Director and Head of Structured Finance at Redwood Trust, Inc. She has also held roles at Mayer Brown LLP and HSBC Securities (USA) Inc. Cara is actively involved in the Structured Finance Association, and currently serves as Chair of its Women in Securitization (“WiS”) initiative.

Cara obtained a J.D. from DePaul University College of Law and a B.A. from Loyola University of Chicago.
