Profile
Colin Wright, founder of Cole West, launched his career as a land acquisition and area
manager for Utah’s largest homebuilder, where he pioneered the Southern Utah market
and managed a 1,000-home master plan. Following the recession, he co-founded Henry
Walker Homes, and expanded it into one of Utah’s top three homebuilders, generating $150 million in annual revenue. Subsequently, he oversaw the acquisition of HWH’s Northern Utah Division and its 3,500 residential lots, as well as the sale of its Colorado assets. Meanwhile, as CEO of Henry Walker Homes, Colin was also involved in a real estate private equity firm that developed over 1,000 apartments doors, acquired assisted living communities, and owned a commercial general contracting company.
In 2016, Colin established Cole West, which rapidly evolved into a leading force in Utah’s
real estate development scene. Under his leadership, the company has 250 active or
completed projects, delivered 10,000 residential lots, developed, or managed 30 retail
spaces with a staff of 130 employees. Alongside his professional pursuits, Colin is deeply
involved in his church and the community. He serves on the board of the University of Utah
David Eccles School of Business and is actively engaged in empowering collegiate athletes.
As the Founder of the Green Hill Far Away Foundation, he focuses on breaking down
socioeconomic barriers by providing scholarships to pursue education to improve scholar’s growth. Colin attributes much of his business acumen and values to his late father, Gary Wright, a prominent figure in Utah’s real estate development community.
