Jeffery Lula serves as a Managing Director at GLS Capital and is responsible for the development and execution of GLS Capital’s commercial litigation investment strategies. This includes business disputes, arbitrations (both domestic and international), antirust, trade secrets, soft IP, judgment enforcement, mass actions, and class actions. Jeffery is ranked as a leading professional in litigation finance by Chambers & Partners. Jeffery is also a frequent writer, speaker, and contributor on the topic of litigation funding including articles in Law360, Bloomberg, The American Lawyer, Today’s General Counsel, Corporate Disputes and others.

Prior to joining GLS, Jeffery was a partner at Kirkland & Ellis. There he litigated large, complex disputes. Jeffery represented clients at trial or arbitration over a dozen times, including as the lead litigation partner. Jeffery also represented debtors and creditors in bankruptcy—which provided insight into distressed investing opportunities. Jeffery brings real-world trial experience to legal funding.

Jeffery holds a J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School, where he served as an Articles’ Editor of the University of Chicago Law Review, and a B.S. from University of Illinois.
