Profile

Tatiana is widely recognized for her work tracing, recovering and monetizing assets concealed across jurisdictions. She regularly leads strategies to enforce multimillion-dollar judgments against sophisticated targets who have structured their holdings through offshore entities, trusts and layered financial vehicles designed to evade recovery. Her work often involves front-page, precedent-setting matters, requiring coordination across legal systems, creative use of legal remedies and deep investigative analysis to locate and repatriate hidden assets for victims.

Her practice includes leading international investigations, coordinating litigation across multiple jurisdictions and leveraging novel legal theories to maximize recoveries. She is particularly adept at navigating complex financial structures, global money flows and emerging technologies used to obscure asset ownership.

Since joining the firm in 2009, Tatiana has played a key role in the representation of the Trustee for the SIPA liquidation of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC. As a key member of that team, she has contributed to one of the largest and most successful asset recovery efforts in history, helping recover more than $15 billion for victims of the decades-long Ponzi scheme.

Tatiana maintains a significant art restitution practice, representing claimants in high-profile disputes involving artwork looted during the Holocaust and other periods of conflict. She played a central role in a landmark Nazi‑looted art trial—the first such case to go to trial in the United States—resulting in a New York court awarding a valuable Egon Schiele watercolor to the heir of a Holocaust victim. This precedent-setting victory has been widely recognized as a significant development in Holocaust restitution litigation and a model for future claims.

A frequent speaker and recognized thought leader, Tatiana regularly presents on cross-border recovery, insolvency and fraud investigations. She is a sought-after speaker at international conferences addressing asset tracing, enforcement strategies and multijurisdictional litigation.

She is deeply involved in the International Bar Association (IBA), where she serves as an officer of the Asset Recovery Committee, leading global discussions on cutting-edge issues in enforcement, interim relief and cross-border disputes. In this role, she regularly moderates and participates in programs examining the legal and practical challenges of recovering assets across borders.

Tatiana is also a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, an honor reserved for attorneys who have demonstrated outstanding dedication to the highest principles of the legal profession and to the welfare of their communities.
