Managing Director, Co-Head US RMBS Ratings at S&P Global Ratings

Vanessa Purwin is the Co-Head of US RMBS Ratings for S&P Global Ratings. Based in New York, her responsibilities include managing S&P’s portfolio of over 14,000 US RMBS ratings across more than 3,000 prime, non-prime, credit risk transfer, and servicer advance receivable transactions. Vanessa also serves on S&P Global’s cross-practice research lab on the Digitization of Financial Markets.

Vanessa joined S&P Global Ratings in 2015. In addition to her role in US RMBS, she also was a Criteria Subject Matter Expert within Ratings’ Methodologies team responsible for the development of structured finance criteria with a focus on RMBS, ABS and covered bonds.

Prior to her tenure at S&P, Vanessa spent over 10 years as a senior analyst at Fitch Ratings covering U.S. RMBS and Canadian and European covered bonds. Before Fitch, she spent time at JPMorgan Chase doing bond analytics for structured finance transactions.

Vanessa has an M.B.A. from NYU’s Stern School of Business and a B.A. in Economics from Drew University.
