Dan Cooperman joined Mavik in 2004 and currently acts as its Head of Investments, and sits on its Investment, Management and Compensation Committees. Since joining Mavik, Dan has overseen the sourcing and execution of over 200 debt, equity and hybrid transactions backed by properties with an aggregate value of over $10b across all asset types in over 40 states. Dan established and maintains key co-lender relationships for Mavik’s mezzanine and preferred equity investments, and conceived and spearheaded Mavik’s entrance into a variety of new investment areas for the firm, including construction lending and structured liquidity solutions, providing multifamily and industrial developers, as well as DST sponsors, the ability to monetize traditionally illiquid positions.
Prior to joining Mavik, Dan managed the debt placement activities of The Greenwich Group International, a real estate investment banking firm based in New York. Prior to that, Dan was an Assistant Vice President in Chase Manhattan Bank’s Global Properties Group, where he worked on the bank’s real estate acquisitions and divestitures. Dan started his career in acquisitions and asset management at JGS, a Japanese conglomerate with global real estate holdings. Dan received his BS in Finance from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
